March: Gearing up for Markets!

We are less than one month away from the start of the 2017 Market Season! Vendors are perfecting recipes and designs, increasing inventory, designing their brands, and gearing up for another great Market Season.

2017 marks the eighth Market season of the Denton Community Market. We have grown since the original small Markets in the parking lot of the Historical Park. We now have over 150 vendors, thousands of visitors, community support for live music and activities, and our popular Farmers’ District and Pet District.

Market Staff has been working hard to bring many great things to the Denton Community Market in 2017!

  • We still host all your favorite local farmers, artists, and vendors, with family friendly activities, the pet district,  live music, food trucks, and special events!
  • We’re working with the Denton Hunger Coalition, GROW North Texas, farmers, and other local partners to increase outreach and improve access for SNAP and WIC recipients to find healthy foods at the Denton Community Market.
  • We’re working with and Discover Denton to promote the weekly live music at the Market. Local musicians will be Live Streamed to the Discover Denton Welcome Center and played Live on each week!
  • We’re working to host additional Mini-Market events with local partners, such as the Greater Denton Arts Council and Mulberry Street Cantina! These non-Saturday Markets will offer alternative days and times to support Market vendors!

Opening Day on April 1st at the Denton Community Market is expected to be a big turn out! In addition to Market Opening Day, it is the 150th Anniversary Celebration of the Chisholm Trail with the Denton County Office of History and Culture! Come enjoy a Market Day celebration with Cowboy Singers, Old West displays, and all your favorite Denton Community Market Farmers, Artists, Food vendors, and activities!
