June marks the beginning of our Summer Hours Markets. We change Market hours to 8 AM – 12 PM in June through August.
June is also a busy month of great Market events and community collaborations
This is our biannual event to celebrate the DCM Certified Farmers. We will have a variety of produce, eggs, meats, and other agricultural products from our farmers. All DCM farmers are producer-only and use sustainable agricultural practices.
Father’s Day is Sunday, June 16th, and lots of Market vendors will have local created goods that can make the perfect gift for the fathers in your life.
Come out for a scavenger hunt and other special activities. Also there will be the Denton County Fruit, Vegetable, Herb and Flower Show on the same day!

June 15th will also kick off the Mayor’s Day of Concern Food Drive!
The Mayor’s Day of Concern For the Hungry is a Community Food Drive and Awareness campaign about Hunger in our community. The Denton Community Market is collaborating with the City of Denton, local food pantries, and community partners in order to help educate the public about hunger issues.
In Denton County, an estimated 159,257 people are experiencing hunger.
The 8th annual Mayor’s Day of Concern for the hungry, is a collaborative effot to increase awareness of hunger/food insecurity in our community and encourage residents and businesses to help address hunger in the community through a food/donation drive.
Hunger doesn’t take a vacation in the summer,
so we are encouraging the community to be generous during our food drive June 15 through June 26.
Businesses and organizations around Denton will compete to collect the most amount of money and non-perishable food items from June 15 to June 26.
June 29th Market will feature a Press Conference and Announcement of the Food Drive Results – featuring community collaborators and City representatives.
Please join us at the Denton Community Market Extravaganza on June 29th to hear a short message at 10:00am about the Mayor’s Day of Concern for the Hungry the results of our food drive competition! We will be awarding a first, second, and third place prize to our drop-off locations above that are able to raise the most food items.
