January and the New Year!

Happy New Year from the Denton Community Market staff! We are excited for the 2017 Market season. 2016 was a year of transition for the Denton Community Market. We learned we will be staying at the Denton County Historical Park location and began planning with the City of Denton and Denton County about our returning presence at the Historical Park.

One of the Market Founders and Vendor Coordinator, Kati Trice, resigned from the Coordinator position after years of developing and growing the Denton Community Market and the community that supports it. The new Vendor Coordinator, Rachel Weaver, began in August 2016. Co-Founder and Executive Director, Vicki Oppenheim, and members of the Denton Community Market Board helped with the staff transition. We are grateful for the help of the Board, the Fundraising Committee, and all the vendors and community members that continue to support Denton’s local art and farmers’ market.

We have exciting plans for 2017 and look forward to working with a great community of farmers, artists, makers, and local businesses. We are developing our 2017 Vendor Handbook and Application, and plan to release these in February.
